Hi and thanks,

Picking up a storm on Friday and while it looks great, my one reservation is the "shared letter/sure type" keypad in portrait mode...

I have used this before and can not stand it...

With that in mind, if someone wanted to, would they be able to write an application that replaces the sure type with an iphone like keypad while in portrait or is that part of the OS locked down and not customizable? Is that type of application even feasible? -- not asking if someone would do it but if it could even be done...

Just wondering because that is the only downside I see with this phone so far...

you can change it to multitap in Options->Screen/Keyboard. Or rotate the screen when you type.

im not sure, but being with the whole blackberry application store coming out after the storms launch, i can definatly see someone writing an app for such a purpose.

Multi tap (to me) is just as bad...

But ..

Using the same keyboard layout in both views would be ideal...

Seems like it could have been an option ...
