Default Storm OS links are dead

Hi, I recently have the .1041 os for my storm but it has some bugs like one in the music and a lot of memory leak which causes my phone to restart twice or more in one day !!

I have searched in crackberry for other OS's and I found them but all the links are dead. I'm just looking for a OS below .1041 . It still needs to be OS 5 though

Thanks in advance.

I'll help you, but it's going to require some work on your part.

List all the apps you have installed.

To do so, go to options>applications. I need 3rd party and add on.

In that same list, rank the importance to each app from 1 to 5, 1 being Must have, 5 being could live without.

Tell me about how many messages you have in your inbox, whether read or not.

How many contacts and calendar entries do you have?

How many email accounts are set up on your phone.

Do you sync your contacts and calendar with any computer software, Outlook for example?

I used to have the problems you are having. I would wipe my device and resinstall the OS about once a month and the problems would go away temporarily. But after becoming a realistic minimalist, I have not had any problems. I pull the battery about once every 2-3 days just for old time's sake. After two months now, I'm still botting up from 1o-15 MB, which I almost never did even after a fresh install.

I deleted the messages in my inbox a few days ago and I also downgraded to a official china software 5.0.0.724 ... Everything was perfect !! But today it suddenly started leaking the memory. After my update I had 22.5 MB !! I just did a battery pull and got 12.5 mb. Oh and I shrunked my os.

I have one email account and I don't sync my contacts and calender. Facebook does sync the birthdays and events though. I have about 500 friends.

I have like 50 contacts on my phone. ( I always forget to save people their number lol).

LOL, 2 hours ago my blackberry kept rebooting non stop. I was getting crazy and did so many battery pulls lol. Then the lovely 101 blackberry thingy helped me out. I updated again to .1041 but I did lose ALL my applications.

Now I have to download everything again lol. There is a new update so I'm currently downloading it and praying that it's any good.

Hey Kevin.

I didn't mean to abandon you after you went through all the trouble of letting me know all your applications.

How are things working now? It seems like you've started from scratch with the OS and installed apps from app world. that would have been one of my suggestions.

When you installed .1041, did you install it barebones, or was there any legacy from anything prior?

Something to keep in mind: It seems like free memory goes farther and farther down over time. Before I started from scratch, .1041 would last me about a week before I had to reinstall it just to stay sane. I've been having great performance for about 2 months now with a battery pull anywhere from 1-4 days. I find that leaving the web browser app open sucks the life out of any memory you have. same with facebook. Twitter not so much.

Those are just some notes I thought I'd throw your way.

But let us know how things are going for you since you lost all your apps.

cheers.

I'm about to go crazy........ Things went great with the new update and yesterday when I was listening to music, I was trying to put it on pause but the phone then freeze, I did a battery pull and then my screen went black !! I can see the backlight when I touch the phone or while it's rebooting but no screen. I've done 100 of battery pulls but it isn't working.

I did downgrade it and that helped but only for 12 hours. Screen went black again and then I updated it again and then it was normal for about 3 hours. I've updated it today and wiped it but still a black screen. So this is probably a hardware problem. I'm about to go crazy lol.
