    and enter "Research in Motion" under Applicant Name

    It had probably been approved for a long time. The confidentiality agreement prohibits the FCC from releasing any information for a certain period of time.

    Probably, but they also can't sell the device until the confidentiality is lifted and the FCC makes the approval public. Now RIM and Verizon have the green light and can sell the Storm anytime now

    That is strange. The FCC lifted its short term confidentiality on the Pearl Flip the day it was announced as available on T-Mobile.
