One of my coworkers Storm's won't work anymore. He used it on the bus this morning to tether and it was working fine. Put it in his pocket and when he took it out at work, he noticed it was off. It was fully charged this morning he said. I tried it with my battery from my Storm and it still doesn't work. I tried his battery on my Storm and it works fine...so it's not the battery. I took out the SIM card and SD card and it still doesn't work. I tried to connect to my computer and it does not recognize it. I was gonna try to wipe the phone, but JL_Cmder doesn't recognize it either. We're stumped... Keeping the battery out over lunch and then trying again after lunch. If it doesn't work, he'll call Verizon for a replacement..Just kinda stumps me at what could have caused it to just break. He has never dropped it or anything like that. Any ideas?

Happened to mine to. Battery is very dead, something drained it. These instructions helped with mine:

    1. Remove the battery.

    2. Free phone from any type of plug-in devices (i.e. charger or usb).

    3. Push the red END/Power Button and hold for approximately 10 seconds.

    4. Plug in charger (ensure charger is connected to electrical outlet).

    5. Press the red END/Power Button again for 10 seconds.

    6. While charger is still connected, replace battery.

    7. Press down on END/Power button until red light goes off.

    8. The screen will flash and a small timer icon will appear.

    9. The timer means your Storm is rebooting...do not attempt to use!

    10. Allow the Storm to load and allow the battery to continue to charge.

It's not the battery, because I have tried his battery on my Blackberry Storm and it works fine..And I've tried my battery on his Storm, and it still doesn't work.. It's something on the phone itself, not the battery. And I checked the water strip, it's still white so it has never been damaged.

    Thanks for the tip though,

could by some weird fluke like a flashed chipset, heat damage, random waterdrop damage, a short, disconnected inner cable, or anything.

It shows no signs of life. No blinks at all, nothing. He called Verizon, and they're sending him a new one. I'm thinking a wire got loose inside.

These steps worked for my Blackberry Storm. Thanks pcwizpcwiz.

The guys at the AT&T store were stumped! They thought they ruined my phone. At least I got a free car charger out of the deal.
