I bought it yesterday and it was 16.99. I contacted newegg and they quickly refunded the 2 dollars. Shipping is a little expensive for this dock though.
I agree that this dock looks very nice and the price is awesome. my question is...whats the point of it?
i've heard that many of you use it for an alarm clock. i dont know how you guys get up, but i beat the living crap out of my alarm clock. i have a digital panasonic alarm clock that i bought for 10 bucks like 8 years ago. it took everything i threw at it and it runs perfectly to this day. i would hate to be woken up by my storm and have to accidentally throw it across the room, but then again, i don't travel for work.
another thing i hear is that people like it to see the time while charging. most likely you're near a computer and should be able to see the time on the task bar.
so again.....why would you want this besides aesthetic/show-off reasons?
Val, some people really do use this as an alarm clock. Not everyone beats the crap out of their alarm in the mornings . I hit dismiss once and up for the day.

Well for me, I was finding that my USB port was getting all tugged and pulled because the cord was drooping over the side of my desk/nitestand. A couple of times I yanked the cord by accident. The cradle is great because it is a heavy stand that the phone can sit on and charge and not put stress on the USB port. If the cord gets yanked you mess up the port on the cradle NOT on the expensive phone.
I am old school. I have always preferred charging stands for my phones--all the way back to my very first NEC. I just wish this one had the metal contacts like the Curve has. Less friction to wear the parts out.
After shipping and taxes, it's only a few bucks off of what you would buy from your retail Verizon store. You don't have to wait three or four days at the Verizon store. I'd rather just pay the few bucks and get it right then.
For those worried about the shipping, well, $22 with the shipping attached is still a darn good deal. Better yet though, order something else with it and combine the shipping if you can.
I don't wake up to an alarm clock, but have had one on my nightstand simply to tell the time. This cleans things up and allows me to keep my BB close by, and it is much nicer to look at. I used to get the cord out every night to charge it, then put the cord back every morning (I am total OCD and couldn't have the cord laying there not being used all day). Now I just slip it in the dock.
I got my from VZW for $22.49 including free overnight shipping. I called the store and they didn't have any, and offered to ship for free. It is $29.99 but I get 25% off through my employer. I gladly had them add it to my bill (which my employer pays!!) and received it the next day. Forget newegg.com.
