Storm 9500 Lock button not working anymore

I recently pulled apart my BlackBerry Storm 9500 to clean around the touch screen. I carefully pulled it apart and put it all back together, however now the lock button on the top won't work but the mute button does. I'm pretty sure I haven't torn the ribbon cable since I hardly touch that area. Is this a OS fault like I've seen in other posts or is it more likely that I've done something ???

I'm running v5.0.0.451 (Platform 4.2.0.198) if that's any assistance.

To fix pretty much any problem.

Step1: Battery pull
Setp2: Reload a newer OS like 5.0.0.1041 or 5.0.0.973

Does pressing harder work? Open it up again and just try to put it back together tighter, it could be that the button isn't making proper contact. Use a can of compressed air to keep things clean.

Besides that, not sure. Let it know how it goes bro.

Cheers mate. I've done quite a few battery pulls but still nothing. I'm going to try a new OS and see if that helps. Kinda kicking myself for pulling it apart now! lol, as they say "curiosity killed the cat!"

I'll get back to you if there's any improvements.

So I installed a newer OS that was available but still it doesn't lock. I'll pull it apart later and try putting it back together tighter or see if anything isn't making contact.
