firstly

how do i reduce the number of applications on my front screen at the moment its on 8 and i wanna reduce it to 4

how do i stop my phone beeping everytime i get an email to my hotmail account?

From the Homescreen Hit the Blackbery Button (Now all Your Apps are Showing). Hit the blackberry Button Again----Options----Set Home Screen Layout.

Profiles
From Homescreen select The little Speaker Icon----Scroll to Set Ring Tones and Alerts------Messages.

Stupid Question But did you Click on Options and not just highlight it (Sorry not trying to make fun) just trying to help no offense.

yeah i have pressed it numerous amounts of times, doesnt seem to work can i use the blackberry button as an enter one??

Yeah the Blackberry button can also be used to select a menu option but its very wierd that you cannot get into options by using either method.

Try turning the phone off then back on,
if that doesnt work then turn it off then take your battery out, then put it back in, then turn it back on,

then follow the directions that were given to you
