Not sure whether this is OS .85 related or not, but that's the OS I'm on and haven't had this issue on others. But I've seen a bunch of threads about when you put the storm in keyboard lock mode or if it's just sitting idle, and the screen not shutting off when it's supposed to, or just going halfway. I just by chance realized that it looked like the same half-dim as when the phone is in bedside mode for the clock.
Sure enough, when i went into my clock app, checked the menu, I saw that the option said "Exit Bedside Mode" rather than Enter which it should whenever the clock app isn't open and running in the foreground.
Rather than posting in each of the problem threads, i figured i could post here and help whoever saw it.
Not sure if this is a universal problem, or what causes it, but if you're experiencing this, go check your clock app.
