Default sold my storm, buyer wants imei number
Is it safe to give the imei number before the buyer completes the payment transaction? He wants to check the number out with Verizon....

Yep it is fine. he just want to check the status of your storm. he wont be able to do anythign with it unless he can access your account. No need to worry.

Typically they just want to make sure the phone is not on a lost and stolen list.

Plus he can't activate the Storm unless he has it on hand to dial the *228 thing.

actually, you'll want to give him your MEID (hex). Verizon can't check the IMEI to see if it's a lost/stolen phone...

if he is asking for the imei, maybe to use on a GSM network? meid and esn are for CDMA use usually...

The MEID number is what he wants. Its just to make sure the phone wasn't black listed(lost, stolen) and he can use it. The IMEI is for GSM carriers. He must have got it mixed up.

Oh no that one is good. Thanks for the leak. I was wondering when this leak would drop. It even makes the phone levitate a couple feet off the ground and take thought commands via Bluetooth. Thanks! Ha ha
