I was wondering is there a significant difference and what the ideal level is. What level is your set at?

I couldn't give you specifics as to how much battery it does save, but it's safe to say that it will, definately.

I keep mine on 60, which is more than enough light. I'll bump it down to 20 or 30 when plugging away in bed. Uh, on my phone that is.

I run mine at 10 all the time. Even when outside I can watch a movie as long as I don't let the screen sit in sunlight.

Same here. I lowered it to 10 a few weeks ago when I read a post about the heat generation of having your screen on 100 and how the screen can separate. On 10, it is bright enough when even outside. As for battery life, it seems my Storm has a life of its own at times. Sometimes I can get 2 days out of it, then with the same amount of usage I will get maybe 12+.

I've had mine set at 50, and been thinking about cutting it back. My battery is all over the place depending if I'm watching vids, using BB Maps, or just surfing. So, I don't know how much the backlight matters in extending your life.

    Just my 2cents

From reading other posts, I think this would change depending on what OS everyone is using.

Of course there will be a significant difference if you have your backlight on 10 all the time.

Mine is set to 100, I like the high contrast.

I'm an IT Consultant, and opening a new email turns the storm into a flashlight so I can see in dark server racks and behind computers under desks.

I have it set to 10 all the time. When I bought mine the rep. at verizon
said she kept hers at 20 cause she was told that was the ideal #.
