Mine bounces around too, but not so often. You could try dialling *228 and choosing option 2.

If that doesnt work you are may be in a bad area. However I still get 1XEV with 1 bar of signal.

more background info would be great

Your Wireless Carrier: Verizon? Sprint? AT&T?
Location: Where are you getting this issue? Only certain locations? Or all the time?
OS version: Are you using the OS that your bb came with? or did you upgrade to leaked/hybrid version?

As for me, my bars go up and down all the time, but doesn't hit to 1x though. Could be a radio issue, which depends on what OS you are using.

Just from what I got from his info and post count:

    Carrier: Verizon
OS: (probably .148 as his post count is only 3)

    2 of 3 down lol.

*228 gave me "Minutes used" (via Sprint.) What excatly are you talking about, Thanotos? (Thanks for the tip if it ends up working.)

*228 updates roaming capabilities for Verizon. If you travel a lot you need to update roaming capabilities to set your phone to the area. Not sure of the number for sprint though. It shouldn't be to hard to find. Its usually the same number you would call to activate a new phone just a different option.

BTW my phone @ all times functioned as if in 1XEV. Think variation was a display glitch.

    a couple things:

*228 is the OTA PRL update for VZW, if you're on another carrier, your experience may differ...

some OS builds have changes to them that cause the network coverage display to be hyper sensitive, some have it be less sensitive...

CDMA frequencies will bounce around, up and down, it's just how it is...but the end user experience is the same

so don't trip if the signal is bouncing all the time, focus on the performance...if the performance suffers, then call VZW and contact tech support...troubleshoot the issue, not the symptom

Mines used to do the same . And I got it to stop. Resend the service books. Read my thread if someone has problems on finding it

I noticed that running .151. I just upgraded to .167 and so far I've noticed a more stable signal (it doesn't jump around anymore). Just can't use custom themes with it.

Wonder if in ur case custom theme was primary cause. As i said above, issue for me seemed fluctuation in reading not actual signal strength & uninstall of dl'd theme (elle) resolved.

Many people running .151 have experienced problems with the signal going from to 4 bars to 0 bars regularly and bouncing around a lot overall. Like exyle said, upgrade to 167. the radio is much better and holds a strong signal much more than 151 in my experience.

I'm running Lyricidal 6v10 with the .167 radio swap (.151 was know from the start to have a bad radio, but was not able to be swap out until .167 leak) Now Pandora/Slacker has no more memory errors. MMS is works fantastic (Mines did not work on the stand alone .151 base) It's fast with hidden touch options in portrait/landscape. BBM 5.0 all apps work need I say more. So it's IMO the most Stable/Non memory leaking well performing Hybrid I've used.
