Why does the screen resolution get all distorted/pixelated when viewing some videos, like on You Tube?

Even pictures get kind of "fuzzy" when you zoom up only 2x.

The Babylon AD video looks amazing, and I'm sure they formatted perfectly for the Storm but shouldn't most videos just look ok?

Is there a setting which improves video/picture quality?

From what I have read on here YouTube downgrades the quality of the video for streaming to phones.
