Removing phone # from Telus CDMA Storm?
Hello All,
I'm soon going on a trip to Central America and want to bring my Telus Blackberry Storm 9530. The phone was purchased from Telus in Canada and is restricted to only be on their CDMA network (seriously they won't allow this phone on their 3G network, despite their competitors Rogers allowing it!).
I stopped using this phone a while ago when I bought my 9700, figuring I would keep it as a phone to travel with. Well now I'm going to Central America and I want to use a local SIM card while I'm down there for data/voice (Tigo GSM).
The phone was unlocked (gsm wise) and I'm pretty confident it will run 3G or GSM fine on any other sim card.
What I need to know is how to remove the "My phone number xxx-xxx-xxxx", and I mean properly remove it, not just hiding it. I'm probably going to try and sell the phone at the end of my trip as it may be easier to sell and possibly worth a couple bucks more in Central America.
How do I get rid as many possible traces that this phone was mine? I've done a complete wipe (including with BBSAK) and my phone number still remains at the top, probably programmed from when it was activated on Telus CDMA network.
Storm 9530 (3G, CDMA) v5.0.0.1041 (Bundle 1688, Platform 4.2.0.456)
3G Bands 1
edit: I also googled 2 threads on CDMA programming and none really relate to Telus. (crackberry wont let me post the links);
And when I dial ##000000 and hit send it says "incorrect password"
*228 also says starting activation process but quickly fails
The phone is NOT active, but not stolen / lost and not barred from the Telus network (I briefly reactivated it recently). Phone is showing up as having service on Telus 1XEV network (probably for 911 purposes)
