Does anyone know how to remove the IM icons (Windows Live, Google Talk, AIM, etc)? I don't have these apps installed but the icons came loaded with the phone and I don't want them.

I just hid them. They take up almost 0 space.

Yeah I hid them for now but I just kind of want to get rid of them. It's not something I will ever use. I don't know why they have to be there in the first place.

Anyone able to delete these icons?

If it is bothering you that much, do a clean wipe and than just uncheck them when installing the OS. Or maybe try uninstalling them through DM.

they are just service books they take up no space just hide them there would be no reason to do a clean wipe of the phone

I checked through DM and when I connect my phone they are already unchecked because the apps are not actually installed. This isn't that big of a deal I'm just a little OCD and don't understand why there wouldn't be a simple way to remove an icon. But apparently there isn't.

Is it safe to just delete the service books then? Will that get rid of the icons?

Delete the service books. That should delete the corresponding icon, but be aware that they will reappear every time you resend service books. It's a standard provisioning load for "consumer BBs" from the carrier.

I haven't had to resend the service books yet. What would be a reason for me needing to do this? Is it something that people do often?

schap verizon could push your service books if they update something with them and they will be sent if you upgrade the os when the phone is registered with the network. your best bet is to just hide the icons

Alright, thanks all. I deleted the service books so they are gone for now, but I guess I will just plan on seeing them again at some point. Man I am picky!

I tried to delete these in the past by removing the service books, but like blueberry23 said, any time anything happens that is likely to request service books or updates they just keep coming back, the only option I found to be effective was to hide them.

I think they come back everytime you do a battery pull.
