Talking to Blackberry technical support today I was told that if you program in an automatic shutdown once a day for 5 minutes you are basically doing the same as running a Quickpull. Can anyone confirm this? I installed Blackberry Professional server today and now Quick pull no longer works.

Any advice or info would be appreciate.

I've used auto shutdown since day one. I have had zero software issues with my Storm in 8 months.

I really doubt that. Quickpull actually simulates a hard reset (battery pull) while turning the phone off does just that. It's like putting a computer to sleep versus restarting it.

with OS 4.6, i had quickpull do a reset at 2am, then the phone auto-shutdown at 2:10a... never had an issue... then upgraded to OS 5.0 and now i miss quickpull....

Quickpull always helped my phone out.... never needed a batterypull or low memory issues....
