I've noticed then when I send email through my gmail account on my storm, I not only have a copy of it saved on my storm, but it then retrieves another copy of the sent message from my gmail and notifies me of new mail on the storm. Anyone else experiencing anything like this or have any advice as to how to prevent the duplicate sent mails from being on the storm? Thanks!

Are you using POP? This sounds like a known issue:
Duplicate sent email message arrives on BlackBerry smartphone when sent using Gmail

You can create a filter, or I would recommend switching to IMAP. Much better interaction with Gmail.
