I went to phone options and typed in my password under voice mail. However when I call my voice mail I still have to type my password in. am I doing something wrong?

Make sure you hit Menu/Save when you're done.

Also, how are you dialing your voicemail. If you don't use the voicemail dialout capabilities of the phone, it won't dial that password. In other words, either hit Menu/Call Voicemail or hold down 1.
