I put the most recent sw on my device (Applications: 4.7.0.78
Software Platform: 4.0.0.98) and it seems to have locked the phone to Vodafone SIMs. With the 4.7.0.65 sw I could use my other SIMs, now is says "Invalid SIM Card" and SOS in the signal meter. Anyone encounter this issue?

That's odd. Does anybody know if upgrading the firmware locks the device again? Mine is unlocked via IMEI

new firmware wont lock your storm. Im using it in o2 germany and have the 83 leaked on my phone, it works, had 78 on before. The vodafone 9500 (except for the UK version) is completely lock-free, so this must be a simcard error, or you really have an UK one then I cant say it

It won't show up. .83 is not an Official release.

Did you delete the vodfone vendor file when you updated your Storm ? I see you are on a different carrier.

I loaded .83 but the phone is still saying invaild SIM and SOS in the signal meter. I had already deleted the vendor file. It appears I got a UK Vodafone version and it has reverted to the SIM lock. I will see if can get it unlocked.

Try if your SIM card works with another (unlocked) mobile phone. If it works, you can be sure the Storm is locked...

I updated to .83, too, but my 9500 works flawlessly so far (using o2 Germany)
