was checking out the new BB swiss army knife and was wondering, what are the benefits of performing a wipe? is there a way to do this other than BBSAK? I have never performed a wipe since owning my storm. I done most upgrades, currently .148.

You can perform the wipes manually either thru the Desktop Manager or on the phone itself without an app. Personally I see no reason for a wipe unless you think there is corrupted data on your phone, such as a corrupted contact or message causing your phone to malfunction.

A wipe is used to completly remove all user data from the device. This is the last step you would take if you were having certain issues with your device or, you're ready to sell your device and want to set it to all factory defaults.

I have a "test BB" that I use to download certain apps or OS upgrades and it gets wiped at least 2-3 times a month.
