Downloaded and installed. Less lag time for sure. So far no problems.

I can't say much about how the rest of the phone has been updated as I am too blown away by the speed of the accelerometer now!!

It is instant, I'd like to see it out done!!

Seriously though, all around it creates a much better user experience.

By only sadness is that BB/Verizon did not wait for release with this version. I guess sometimes it takes mass use to zone in on what bugs are most important to patch.

Overall, very happy!!

Yeah I noticed that they slipped that in there. I'm not sure it is the best way but I simply highlighted that icon and hit the blackberry menu button. When the side menu came up I just selected "hide" . The icon is no longer there.

Installed it with great improvements! Listed out the pro's and con's below:

Pros:
1) Lag time is significantly decreased in regards to accelerometer
2) Camera loads quicker (flip side in Con section)
3) Keypad lag during a phone call is decreased
4) Lag regarding locking/unlocking is reduced

Cons:
1) Answering a phone call while in landscape mode still causes some significant lag issues
2) Camera is still slow when it comes to actually taking the picture
3) I found that my phone would turn the screen on by itself. I turned off my coverage LED indicator and that seemed to fix the problem. At first I thought it was because it was because I was logged into AIM but I logged in after turning off the indicator and it's back to normal.
4) Still had a significant lag when receiving a phone call while watching a video
5) Carryover from .65 - When I'm on a call and I receive an email or other sort of message, I would hear a beep on the phone (normal). But then people would stop hearing me on their end unless I hit mute then unmute.

That's all for now, I just installed it on 01DEC2008 so I'll play with it some more.

I just got mine today, and upgraded after I got everything set up. WAY better than it was right out of the box. Although now my enterprise server is not activated, and I can't get it to activate. Might need my IT dept to do something

I didnt have too many issues with .65 other than some lag which wasnt awful.

Upgraded to leaked version of .75 yesterday, saw slight improvement with lag, but nothing major as I wasnt having much issue prior.

i then loaded the version .75 from DM today and i started seeing some of the worst lag I had since I got the phone.

I then wiped my phone, and reloaded the version from DM again. Now this thing is like lightning compared to any of the previous experience I have had. When I switch from portrait to landscape i can barely say 1 and its switched. All the sticking I had when trying to open apps has also gone away. Awesome improvement so far IMO...

Default Storm leaked .75 problems

When typing on keyboard, if I hold a key down it will offer greek?? characters. Once I hover over any greek character, my camera comes on. Seems the unit does not know the camera is on thus no way to turn off. Power cycle did not help. Only a battery pull restored operation.

For a while, I could repeat this consistently. Later today it does not seem to do it. VERY strange.

Yes, this is the LEAKED version of .75

Thumbs up 4.7.0.75 Details

Menu Glitch
When composing a message and the corrective text box was open on the screen and you hit the menu/BlackBerry button the wrong menu options would come up (Reply instead of Send). THIS IS FIXED WITH .75

File Free/Memory
I have about 6MB more file free after the update. We'll see if the memory leaks are as bad with .75 as they were with .65...
EDIT: AFTER REBOOT I HAVE ABOUT 20MB MORE FILE FREE (51MB)

Accelerometer
No lag, screen flips almost instantly (about 1 second)

Fade Effects
Programs and folders fade in and out quickly without lagging

Camera
Loads quickly in about 2-3 seconds but still hangs (black screen) for 2-3 seconds when taking a picture. (Somewhat understandable as it's capturing 3.2MP worth of info...)

MySpace and Facebook
These apps are usable in landscape mode now without the annoying "compatibility" mode.

Responsiveness
After hitting send on the menu after composing a message, the screen jumps back to the message list MUCH quicker than .65.

Multi-Tasking
I frequently browse and message at the same time, I used to experience a lot of lag, this has also been resolved.

Incoming Messages/Incoming and Outgoing Data
With .65 I experienced lag when emails came in and I was composing a message. This no longer happens, incoming messages are invisible.

I use Google Sync for Calendar and Contact OTA synchronization and when the auto-sync started the phone would lag and freeze. So far .75 has seemed to fix this.

Typing
I've become quite accustomed to the touch keyboard and can type rather fast. With .65 it couldn't keep up with me and would miss an entire word, with .75 I can jam out on the keyboard and it keeps up!

Reboot Time
Reboot time is roughly cut in half!

A BIG THANK YOU TO RIM AND VERIZON FOR GETTING AN OS OUT QUICKLY!

Maybe I'm missing something because after upgrading the OS, I'm really not seeing any noticable changes.. Accelerometer still has a mind of its own and for some bizarre reason doesn't always go into landscape mode for me when I turn it to the side..

I don't notice any real speed improvement either. Clicking on an app or switching between them isn't any faster to me with .75 than it was with .65..

Available memory is 30MB.. which is roughly what it was with .65...

I need more time to play with it, but right now it looks as if the OS update effect is negligible at best..

Haha you guys crack me up.

I loaded .75 and can't notice much of a difference in anything. In fact, it made the phone worse. I've had one random reboot, which I never had with .65. And twice the entire screen has showed a snow pattern and I had to do a battery pull. The accelerometer is not quicker. The camera is not quicker. Nothing is better. I reverted back to .65 and it's just as good, with no crashes. And before you ask, I loaded .75 more than once to make sure it wasn't a bad load.

I'd LOVE to see RIM's internal software change log from .65 to .75. I guarantee only a few things changed, and they're probably cracking up that you guys are reporting sweeping improvements across all aspects of the device: accelerometer, camera, typing, phone pad, everything.

RIM or Verizon didn't get this OS out. It's a leaked, unofficial version.

I have a glitch that I thought was a one time issue but happened a couple of times now. I have used my curve and now storm as my primary MP3 player to listen to podcasts in my car during my commute and with the curve it was fine. But the storm... hmmm

While listening to audio with the line out connected to the headset jack the phone display will go dim (battery saving) and the audio will continue (as it should) but if you hit the screen to check a msg or even to check the time the phone resets. doesnt happen on short tracks like music but on longer tracks like 30 plus it has happened the last 4 times. think the phone is using the ram to buffer and not releasing it as the audio plays.. Have to check with a friend at RIM as I am using .75 and havent tried it on .65 as I dont have a spare unit that hasnt been updated.
