No, edge is 2G. You have it in GSM/UMTS (in Manage Connections),what carrier are you on? If you're using it on Att or Tmobile (in the US) then you will only ever get 2G, or EDGE.
If you were using it on Verizon (1XEV) then you would get 3G.

In what Universe is this true? If this were the case, I'd have been getting 3G for the past 2 years. Storm 1(9530) is not a 3G-supported phone. It doesn't matter what network you're on, you won't have 3G with the Storm 1.
