Is this a trick question, or are you being serious?

I'm serious. There is no sim card in the slot. And when it boots up, I still connect to Verizon. And I can still make calls. The number on the other end shows up as my number.

YOu mean the SIM that came in the box? That's for international roaming. CDMA networks don't use the SIM otherwise as far as I know, someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong...

You don't need a sim card to use any Verizon phone including the Storm and Tour, they're just there for international roaming.

The Storm can be used on both GSM and CDMA networks. The SIM is only used on GSM networks (e.g. AT&T, Voda, various international carriers). When you're on Verizon, you're using the CDMA part of the phone, which doesn't use the SIM.

    What you're experiencing is normal.

    What's going on here tonight?

Native Verizon connection is CDMA (no SIM required), the SIM is there for GSM usage (i.e. International or US, if unlocked, on a GSM carrier).

When the phone is locked, you can only use the default Vodaphone SIM. When the phone is unlocked, you can use any SIM card, including AT&T.

Right, so lets say if my number is 1234567 for VZW and my number is 7654321 for ATT. If the SIM card for ATT is in my 9530, which number is active?

It depends on which network your Storm is set to use at that moment in time. In your settings, you can select between different networks (e.g., CDMA, GSM, or automatic). While the Storm supports both GSM and CDMA networks, you can only be on one at any given time.

The BlackBerry will ask you when there is a SIM installed. Also, if you goto options, mobile network you'll see that there are different settings available for which ever network technology you want to use (GSM or CDMA)

Of course it will work. It's a CDMA.
But if you go in Europe...it won't work.
