multipart/alternative
Dear CrackBerry Users,
I bought a Blackberry Storm 1 9530 from a local surplus store. This is the first time I have used or owned a blackberry. When I activated it with Verizon it instantly showed an e-mail address of, I guess, the previous user. Learning about the blackberry in all it's wonders, I found that I had to use the Blackberry Internet Service to edit e-mail accounts. I found that this PIN was registered to another user and I could not create an account. I used a different blackberry to create an account and then 'changed the device' to the one I am currently using. That allowed me to add e-mail accounts to my BB. This is a personal BB and not a BES BB.
I upgraded to all the latest and greatest today April 12th, 2010 - so I have the newest OS and everything else is up to date.
My problem is all e-mails display [?] multipart/alternative in the body of the e-mail and nothing else.
Searching google and here, I have tried the following:
- Erased the entire BB
- deleted all service books associated with my e-mail account, pulled battery, deleted all e-mail addresses from BIS, re created e-mail accounts in BIS, resent service books, pulled battery, and nothing.
I send an e-mail from my Verizon account via the Internet interface to the Gmail account I set up on my BB - just plain text and I see the sender info, the subject then [?] multipart/alternative - that's it.
Yes, html is turned on and auto download images is active as well. I have not seen many people with this issue except for people on OS before 4.5 posted in 2008, and I was hoping someone could help me now.
Thank You,
Derrick J. Gebhard
