I have no outstanding emails and/or messages, yet the envelope icon in the top left of the home screen shows "23". What could be "out there" that I have not cleared and how can I clear this? It just bugs me that it is showing a number and I do not know what it represents.

I have had this problem before and a battery pull usually takes care of it. What OS are you running?

I have done a battery pull and it did not clear it. As far as the OS I am running, I am embarrassed to sound so stupid, but I have no idea - where is that information listed?
