MediaCard Trouble on Device & Desktop Software. HELPPPPP!

Hiii everyone,
I just got a blackberry storm activated to replace my stolen tour. It did not have a media card so I took an older media card I had and used it. The device went on to say that all media files would be saved under the media card, but 1) when I take a picture it saves to the device memory, 2) when I connect it to my mac desktop software says that there is no media card installed even though I clearly put the media card in. I have uninstalled the software, tried different memory cards, pulled the battery, rebooted my phone, formatted the memory card, repaired it, & enabled everything on the memory card page. STILL NOTHING! I am so desperate for some feedback because I have no clue what to do now. Thankssss, hope to hear from someone.
