I wish my 8830 worked. I mean technically the only thing wrong with it is it is on a Sprint network, but I think most will agree that is the same as "Not working" :P

Seriously though, I want a silver 8830 to hold me over until a Storm :P

Omg, I have to do the same thing for my enV. My charging port got knocked out of its place and wiggles so I have to rig it every night with rubber bands to charge it.

My Treo isn't quite that bad. I just had to stuff cardboard around the battery to reduce the shifting of the contacts.

Now it only rests from mild shocks or if 3 or more buttons on the keyboard are pressed at the same time.

Looks like it's on life support. Hopefully you can pull the plug on the 23rd.

I'm giving my 8830 to my father, who's using a Treo in about the same condition as your BBerry.

It has been very surprising how many times that rig has been through airport security without any issues.. I keep it in my bag though so its not right out there in plain sight. I have gotten the occasional weird look from the person sitting next to me when I set it up to charge.
