The best I could find is go to options-memory and make sure encryption is turned off. Hope that helps.

its probably a corrupted file, dunno how it got that way but ive recorded several movied but have had that happen twice, have you tried to reboot your phone? also take your sd card out and put it back in so the phone re scans it. after that i would connect to a computer and see if your media player will play them, if they will you could always take them off and put them back on the sd card and that may fix it.

You actually expect your media functions to work??? Come on now, this is BlackBerry not iPhone. If you want a phone that can do things without error messages, lags, and long work arounds for simple things then you've come to the wrong place...

Dude are you serious?? lol. I have over 30 movies for my phone that look and sound awesome, and play just fine. I usually at any given time keep 3 movies and I have over 700 songs on the phone. Learn how to use it.

media player > video camera > bbmenu > options > set "video format" to: mms mode > bbmenu > save > take few videos > repeat steps 1-4 > set "video format" to: normal mode > bbmenu > save

I know how to use the device quite well (after countless hours of frustration) and I also have media on my device but I rarely use it... I use my ipod touch instead because of the fact that the UI is vastly superior and because I DON'T get stupid error messages preventing me from watching movies and listening to music. Also the camera on the storm is complete garbage I wouldn't reccommend using it.

Just answer this question: on which device are you most likely to get a ridiculous error message while using one of it MAIN features which subsequently locks up the device? Yes the BlackBerry sucks at media.

I did. I already said I gave it away. It didn't even support my $160 bluetooth headphones.

This has happen to me as well and i had a thread asking the same question. After a search i found there where several other threads with the same issues listed. MMS mode works everytime, Normal sometimes works and some times doesn't.

DriftDevil list a fix, which I havenot tried yet. But MMS has been working fine.

So its not a matter of learning how to use the device, there is a bug and a lot of people have had the same problem.

I had this same issue until I switched to the .148 OS. The only thing that seemed to work was to hit the record button to record, hit pause, then instead of saving the video, pressing the BB key and clicking View Videos. This would still save the video but not corrupt the file.

How did MMS get into this thread?!?

I had my device encryption set to "device"... i turned it off and made a movie and it replayed fine. I turned it back on to test if this was really the problem and with encryption on it worked fine again lol.

Gonna try the back button trick next time i try to make a movie that matters all great tips so far! Thanks guys.

As for the iPhone troll... It just so happens i carry both in my pocket! a Storm and a 3GS!! The ui IS more friendly on the iphone but no zomm = fail!

There are numerous threads posted about this issue. A quick search will really help out.

The OP was about the storm not being able to play a recorded video. The OS is the first question. In the newer OS there is a bug and if you simply exit the video recorder before trying to view the video, it should work.

In other words, don't try to view through the video recorder app... exit and then view the video.

I hope that helps. If not, a simple search in the forums should give you other things you could try.
