make a call like I did on my curve. I'm wondering if it is at all possible
to do it the way the Curve works. Press green send button and the call log
appears easily and then by pressing the number keys the list of applicable
numbers comes up. Now I press green send and then I either have to press the log button or contacts and then keyboard...

Hold down the green send button for a second and the contacts list should come up. Then tap on the search bar above and begin to type the name. It will narrow down your contacts.

When in phone press menu>options>general>initial view and you can change to open phone to whatever scren you like. Hope that helps a little.
