I'm sure this has been covered before but I didn't find any specific information regarding this in the search. Does having low memory equal faster battery drain? Last night I had Pandora going for about 45 minutes and when I looked at my battery I dropped from 80% to 45%, a very dramatic decrease. I looked at my memory and I was at 8.7 which is very low. Today, I rebooted and ran Pandora for 45 minutes again and I went from 100% to 90%, not nearly as dramatic. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks in advance.

I would think that the general comment would be that that the battery does not discharge at a linear rate.

It is certainly possible that having low memory causes the java memory manager (don't look for it, it is not a visible application!) to run more often which would use more power.

sometimes the phone doesn't update its status on battery life so it could have displayed a 80% when it was closer to a 60 or 50%
