Default Laptop Battery vs. Berry Battery while tethered

So today I was tethering my BlackBerry to my laptop (I use VZ access manager, not TB). When you plug your BB into a computer it starts charging. Well I notoced this drained my laptop battery much faster then normal.

So here's my question: Does charging a berry through a laptop battery have a significant effect on your laptop battery? And if so, is there a way to turn off the charge function while tethered?

There's no way to turn off the charge function, and it does put an additional load on your laptop battery.

I have used my laptop to recharge my 8830. If the 8830 is almost dead, it will almost completely drain my laptop battery to fully recharge the 8830, with the 8830 turned off and the laptop display off. It's not an efficient way to recharge your BlackBerry, but it works in a pinch.

Or you could always plug your laptop into the wall charger so your battery isn't being drained

    Think about it like this....
If your laptop isn't plugged into a power supply....
How long does the battery last?
    An hour or two, tops?
Figure its gonna take no less than an hour to fully charge the phone with the proper charger, even longer with a laptop.
Given the choice, full laptop and dead BB, ill kill the laptop to let the BB survive lol.

Thanks for the response, everybody. I thought maybe there was a way to stop it in windows so the batteries would drain parallel to each other. I have berry chargers everywhere, lol.

I think you have to charge your blackberry with your charger,if you are charging your blackberry through laptop then you should plug-in your laptop battery.
