Keyboard Disappearing

I notice whenever I am "rapid firing" a text message (or AIM message), my keyboard random disappears. It happens in landscape mode; it could happen in portrait mode but I don't text/message in portrait mode.

I don't believe I'm doing the downward swipe that hides the keyboard. If there is some shortcut that hides the keyboard that I'm unaware of, please let me know!

Any idea why this is doing it? It's really, really pissing me off. I'm on .75, the latest official Verizon release. Haven't messed with the firmware.

I tried to duplicate the problem and I can't seem to. It seems that other people are experiencing this problem as well. I've posted it on another forum.

If you can offer any insight, that would be great. Thanks!

I had the same problem and three of my other friends with the phone are too but I upgraded to .85, they didn't and ever since I haven't had that problem but they still do.

So your other friends are still on .75 and still experience the problem?

That's great to know. At least I know when Verizon does release .85, it will be fixed!

im on .83 and this update has deff fixed that problem

I see. According to the linked thread, it maybe because I'm not lifting my thumb high enough when pressing the space button. I'll pay more attention to that.

Otherwise, it's good to know it's fixed in an upcoming OS.

Just FYI if anyone should search for this thread, I paid a lot of attention to lift my thumb high enough while rapid firing the space button. It seemed to have "fixed" the problem.

you should also watch how you track your thumb down the keyboard. I had the same problem and it turns out I was dragging my thumb down...which causes the keyboard to retreat (opposite motion in a blank screen will cause the keyboard to appear), it's like running through tires...keep those thumbs up

in screen options menu there is a swipe sensitivity menu, just set it from 6 to 3, that worked for me. i put it to 0 but i couldn't bring the keyboard up very well with a swipe, but 3 keeps the keyboard open for me all the time, so much better, and i'm running .75 cause verizons being stupid and not releasing the update!!!!
