I got a replacement Storm in recent days.
I haven't activated it yet, wanted to make sure I checked everything well first.

This morning I popped my battery in replacement,
and as soon as it booted up I got:
    Uncaught Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hit OK and I got:
    Uncaught Exception:
    java.lang.Error

I've done some searching, and what I've found so far this error seems
to point at 3rd party apps. But this is a new phone (not a refurb). It
has .75 installed, no 3rd parties. I have not put the memory card in it yet, that's still on my original phone.

Do I need to be concerned?

Could be a corrupt OS or it could be bad flash corrupting that OS or simply a bad OS load. It's up to you if you want to reload the OS and see if it fixes it or if you'd rather send it back as DOA and request another.

Personally, I'd reload the OS and retest. If the problem persists, then it's a hardware problem and should be addressed as such.

    Thank you!

I'm curious (and want to learn).
Just figured this was a software issue.

Since you mentioned it could be hardware,
it would have to be something on the CPU then?

or "Bad flash" as in flashing a BIOS on a PC?

As an aside, I went to Event Log just to see what was there.
I've only had this phone on about 4 times.
That error is also listed as occurring back in Dec (at the factory)
