    I'm curious to know if there's a setting on the phone like most verizon phones where you get an alert like

    "incoming call from [ insert faux names ]"

    Or even with text messages

    it is a audio setting on phones supplied in the generic OS on vzw dumb phones. RIM doesn't include this setting on their phones. most people record their own with a voice note and set it as an alert for friends, coworkers, etc.

    Not available with Storm.

    Although slightly more tedious, you can make your own by downloading a generated sample from IVONA (IVONA Text-To-Speech by IVO Software) or IBM Research (IBM Research | Projects | Text-to-Speech)
