Default Idea for making Storm a bit faster

I think graphical transitions (visual crossfade between apps and home screen) may be slowing down the Storm. Remember how such transitions affected computers when Windows first implemented animated window actions?

While they may be "pretty," RIM should offer the option of turning them off. The Storm, being a Blackerry, is a tool first and a cool gadget second, and it doesn't need such fluff.

(On a completely unrelated note, I consider the iPhone, despite its superficial similarity to the Storm, to be the exact opposite: a cool gadget first and a tool second, even when used in an enterprise via Exchange.)

Thoughts?
