At random times, normally not daily, my screen will flicker. Basically it dims in and out very fast, or atleast that is what it looks like its doing. Anyone else having this issue or is it the device?

mine has done that twice that I know of...it will flicker really fast, like a strobe light. Its not really bright, but is very annoying. I just do a battery pull and it stops.

I've only had that happen in really bright light.
Like in the sun sitting in the car. Not sure what that is. There was another thread about this a while back. Don't remember what the consensus was on it

Oh... It happend to mine bold/javilin too much and totally random! However, 8320 was never experiencing that.
I just don't know why and never found the root cause!

This happens in very bright light. It's a problem that needs to be fixed. I don't think the testers responsible for this have seen this problem first hand... like many others. Maybe RIM should be reading CB more then carrier testing reports.

I get flickering in bright light also. If i shade the screen it settles down. I notice it most in the car.

Just noticed it for the first time the other day while my sunroof was open. Extremely quick flickering.

I also just noticed this today...
in the car...overcast but sunroof open...just taken off charger...replacement running OS 148
It continued to do it in the store for about 3 min then just stopped...

This happened to me and I discovered that the flickering was caused by the phone charger. It didn't matter if it was the computer USB charger, the wall charger, or the car charger, they all caused it to happen. I returned it to Verizon for a new phone.

Options folder>screen/keyboard>

Backlight brightness = level when in active use.
Backlight timeout = time span for remaining lit when not actively used. In ur case, set 2 longer, e.g., 2mins.
Automatically dim backlight = whether adjusts 2 lower surrounding light.
