No one looked so I assume no one believed me. but seriously, its true.

Alright, so if anyone is interested in investments or only trading etc. If you open up an E-Trade account they have a deal with WireFly.com. With a new contract you will be able to get the storm for 130 bucks which ships out on friday.

For anyone who wants to give them a call to verify this, call them at 1-877-337-1087.

I am going on a family plan so the price was $189.99 so I will just wait in line to get it ON friday.

Also, I had to log in to get that number, so if anyone asks... it wasn't from me!

I don't actually have any money in e-trade yet so there aren't any minimum balances.

    Enjoy!

I would venture to guess that most people ready and willing to trade on the market (and thus, sign up for a new account) don't care too much about a couple bucks.

That being said, if you really want a discount, and you are a NEW user, you are best-off calling Verizon. You get a lot of discounts (e.g., $35.00 activation fee waived, $20.00 overnight waived (Saturday delivery), $6.00 less per month on service (that's $144.00 over two years), and discounts on accessories).

I saved $130.00 buying from Verizon over this particular deal on Wirefly.

same things required to open up a bank account. and I am a college student with zero money to invest, I was just opening one up for fun and with the hope that soon I will be able to put in SOMETHING. And $70 is more than something... not to mention you dont have to wait for the $50 rebate.

Well, imann, I hope you're not a new Verizon customer. Because if you are, you've just lost money by going the wirefly way. Just keep in mind to compare the pricing differences for monthly service. That adds up over time.

Ok. If you are a NEW customer, and you go with Verizon telesales, you will get:

    1) Storm (after rebate): $200
    2) Activation fee is waived: -$35
    3) Overnight shipping waived: -$20
    4) Service discount (this will vary). For me, I get $6 off per month for 24 months. Voice: normally $40 and BES: normally $45. That's $85, but I'm getting it for $79 per month. That's -$144 after two years.
    5) Various accessories discount. I got $19 off of the total of the car charger and leather holster.

So, with Verizon, I save $219, as opposed to Wirefly. However, Wirefly has the handset for $50 cheaper. So, in the end, I really save $169 by going with Verizon. If you don't want the phone overnight anyway, then you'll save $149.

Verizon telesales is regular Verizon just over the phone? Its not a 3rd party?

Correct. I just looked up the sales number verizonwireless.com and that's it. You have to negotiate to get the activation fee and delivery fee eliminated -- but it's not difficult.

    One more question...

Lets say I get the Storm and it is horrible (I hope not ) Will I be able to return it in 30 days with that Test Drive program same as if I bought it at a retail location?

The regular Premium Individual plan has unlimited data/texts and 450 minutes for 79.99... so you're not saving anything unless you are getting more than 450 minutes.

    I want to get:

    450 minutes $40
    Unlimited Text $20
    Unlimited Data $30
    VZNavigator $10
    Insurance $5

That comes out to $105 and with taxes it will be about $117 a month. I wonder if I could get a discount.

    Incorrect.

Go to wirefly right now, select the $39.99 talking plan, and then the $44.99 BES data plan. Your total is $84.98 /month. Through Verizon it is $79.00. You are saving $6.00/month x 24 months = $144.00.

There is no premium tab when you are selecting a BB first. If you are able to add it some other way, maybe through customer service, I'd love to get on that plan.

I just saw that, but then actually went to the next step. On the next screen you have to choose between the BES or BIS plan for an additional monthly charge. So, the cheapest you get is $79.99 plus another $29.99 for BIS.
