I knew already that .148 has failed lots of people who tried to download, but I rather not say anything about it.

It is probably better to do it through DM instead of OTA

OTA takes a lonnnnnnng time. Better to use DM but people are lazy. Now look at what that got them....

So many people are STILL doing it OTA, even after all the warnings and findings.

    And boy have they ever...

People should have installed the leak weeks ago. They could be kicking back with us, watchin' the fiasco unfold.

It's because OTA is a novelty, most people have never done an update through OTA before.

Some people have macs, or use linux...

Some people don't update their computers operating system, much less the OS on their phones...

Not everyone has a computer with a reliable Internet connection.

You guys are assuming a lot.

If you are using the leaked 148, there is no update. You already have the latest version.

Yeah, you're right. I know there are some that have no choice in the matter, my comments obviously dont apply to them.

You need to d/l the version onto your desktop and install it. At that point, DM will recognize it.

Is your storm physically synced to your computer while looking for the update? I know I didnt have mine connected and was wondering the same thing

Anyways, .148 is the worst preforming OS for me so far, I've used .109, .113,.132 and no .148 (some of those were hybrids in there)

Wow, thats too bad. It seems that every OS varies from device to device. Maybe there is an issue with hardware quality?

Its a bug in DM. This was stickied earlier but not now for some reason. You need to get to the point in DM where you get the error, leave it open and open up another instance of DM. Some kind of bug I heard and as weird as this is, it apparently works. Good luck.

Edit: Still stickied, just compiled http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/qu...evices-238649/

My friend did the OTA update and she lost her contact list. the only thing that saved her was they were backup from a previous DM backup and it took her 90 mins to compete. I plugged into my DM and it took 15 min and everything works Great. i guess it depends on the device whether you have issues or not.....
