VW just started charging my for a data plan on my current phone even though I hadnt needed one for the 1st year of my contract. They claim that all smartphones require a data plan, even those bought a year a ago and in the middle of a 2 yr plan. That sucks. I argued with them, and told them that the only way Id do it is if they let me upgrade now, to the storm, and they agreed.
I am ticked at VW, but at least I get a Storm now, which will be cool.
that information is wrong. it is for smartphones launched after 11/14/08, except blackberries. they have always required data packages.
Thanks thats how I understand the policy, they shouldnt be able to just add a $45 charge without notification, and I shouldnt be required anyway. Im going to try again to get the charges removed, then Ill purchase a data plan once I active my Storm.
