I just purchased a storm for my girlfriend. She won't be using the internet with it, or anything else. Just to play games on, text, and call. As of now anyway.

My problem, is the phone used to be a Verizon phone. I've already unlocked it, so that's not a problem. However, I need to remove all of the previous owners records. Like at the top, it says "My number is xxx-xxx-xxxx". Also, the email still says the PO's email. I tried to get rid of that, but it will not allow me to get rid of that either.

Aren't there some buttons I can push, to get into a menu to change the number?

Can I completely erase all of the Verizon jazz? The verizon startup screen, verizon icons, ect. So it's not a verizon storm, but just a blackberry storm.

I did all of this on both mine, and her pearls last year or so, but since then I've moved onto an iPhone, and lost all of my BB knowledge!

I've searched, but can't really find what I'm looking for. I did find a sweet click fix though!

    Thank you.

Is there a how-to on this located somewhere on these forums?

Also, wiping will not re-lock the phone, right?

no problem, here is all the OS. i suggest loading OS .151 http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/al...-betas-123176/

here is how to load the OS and also download crackmem to free up wasted memory on the phone. http://forums.crackberry.com/f135/ne...memory-142376/

and use this program to wipe the device. it is by far the easiest and best.

    Like I said before, thanks.

I've run into a problem though. I downloaded the .151 OS, and when I try to install it...it says that the version of that file is not compatible with the version of windows that I'm running. It's telling me to check whether I'm running x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit)

I'm running 64bit. Is there another one you would recommend?

You wanna use bbsak and choose reset to factory. This will wipe the media card too if I'm not mistaken.

Whew. Thankfully I haven't done this yet, and fell asleep lastnight.

I'm now downloading the .151 os from the secondary link posted.

I know this is a double post...oh well.

So I've run crackmem, and bbsak. I'll click the buttons in the programs, and it will tell me "action completed", "wipe completed!"

But...when I click "Wipe Device" in BBSAK, it instantaneously says "wipe completed!"

There's no wait time, the phone screen doesn't change, anything.

The same goes for removing the things via crackmem. The OS also doesn't light up red like it says it should in the how to posted.

You have to go to options, security options, wipe device... After that, install everything back and put your info...

Hello. It's been a busy past few days.

Anyway, I was finally able to work on the phone earlier today. I wiped the device using bbsak. I tried to re-load the OS with crackmem, but it had the same results as earlier.

I've got another problem. After loading the OS with bbsak...it's still got the Verizon logos and everything there! Its wiped away the previous owners email, but the phone number at the top is still there.

It's still unlocked, it just seems as if the phone wasn't as wiped as I thought it would have been. I'm going to try it again, uninstalling the OS off of my computer then reinstalling. Maybe I'll have different results then?

    I'll keep you posted.

If he is on 64bit he is most likely running Vista. Which he is going to wanna run all the apps he's using in compatibility mode under Windows XP SP2 and run all the apps with Administrative privilages. I had trouble just getting desktop manager and Loader.exe to pickup certain things on my phone when reinstall the OS.

    Hope it helps.

Yes, I am on vista. The desktop manager, and the OS loader works perfectly fine. I think I forgot to open crackmem in Administrator. I'll do that this time.

I'm extremely surprised on the amount of help I've received on this forum. I'm an avid forum user, from my BMW to my iPhone, and with all the forums I've been on, this has been one of the most helpful, ESPECIALLY to a new member.

    Thanks guys.
