Default How old is your storm?

    Hi everyone
I have not been around here in forever, since buying a android after my storm contract was up.
I wanted to know from those still rocking the storm how long have you had your unit for? AND what keeps you using such a old phone ?
This is not about OS or which or what is better, just why are you still using your og storm?

I've been using Storm 2 for about a week, then switched back to my good ol' Bold, I just couldn't get used to a software keyboard even with the interesting surepress technology. But I sold the Storm 2 to my friend, he still uses it and is very sattisfied. After this experience I told myself that I will never ever switch to a full-touchscreen device, but I still wonder how good the BB10 keyboard will be.

Oh I found that the original storm broke me into full touch forever .... That was about 4 years ago.

I've been using my 9530 (original) for a little over 3 years. My eldest son has been using his (also original) 9530 for 3 1/2 years. Simply put, neither of us have had any significant issues with our devices and they still do essentially everything we need them to do functionality-wise.

My youngest son used his 9530 (again original - no replacements) for over 2 years before he decided that he wanted to go the Droid route but, otherwise, he experienced no issues with his 9530.

My wife got her 9530 shortly after it was released. The only problem she had was due to the phone falling off the roof of her car, but then she never used any kind of a case; she wound up getting an insurance replacement. Last year, she decided to get a Bold, the physical keyboard being the sole reason for doing so.

If it were not for the fact that my son and I could make use of WiFi on the 9550 or Torch, we wouldn't never consider ditching our 9530s. We really don't intend to revisit the subject of replacements until the BB10 devices are released.

    FWIW......

Mine died couple of months ago. Two scratches on the digitizer, created dead spots horizontally. Unusable. Replacement screen wouldve costed as much as a used 9000. Took the battery out put it in my Tour.

I think the S1 thread count here in CB speaks for itself.

Perhaps a long shot, but have you tried plugging your phone in without the battery, waiting for the red light, and then inserting the battery? That seems to have worked in some instances.

    Hi,

I am still using the original Storm that I got in 2009. Have had a few minor issues but nothing serious. It still does what I need it to. Wife still has one too, although she has replaced hers a couple of times with insurance.

I checked the marketplace and didn't see anything for sale by you. Just out of curiosity, what are you going to ask for yours, I may be interested just to have an extra around in case I need it.

    Email me or post here.

bought a refurbished verizon 9550 online a year ago. still working very well. I like the touchscreen experience and the big screen of the storm.

will continue to be a trooper til blackberry 10 comes out I don't mind waiting.
