I'm a Storm newbie and just found out about this. How often do you do it? I read one post that said daily. That seems pretty often to me and I was wondering if there is any long term negative consequence of repeated pulls.
I only do it when I need to (when things become sluggish), which for me is like once every two weeks or so, recently.
Others might recommend doing it daily, I've never needed to do this personally.
You can gauge your phone's memory by clicking Options > Memory, and look at the Application Memory. Since you just did a pull, I'd do that now just so you know where your phone is at the moment, and compare that to when your phone starts to become sluggish.
I loaded a new OS (.230) a few days ago and haven't pulled the battery since. For me, it really depends on the OS I am running. When I ran .148 (the Verizon official and a horrible manager of memory), I pulled it every 1 to 2 days. On .151 (the best memory manager I've had), running the exact same apps as on .148, I pulled the battery maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks.
I have two batteries, one is charging while the other is in the phone, so in the a.m. before going to work, I switch batteries.....requiring a pull. No problems.
I have quickpull on my Storm set to auto reboot every morning right before I get up. With my Tour I have not done one reset yet unless I'm uninstalling an app.
