After you clear the log and get back to the home screen, pull the battery for 30 seconds and replace it. I know a leak sucks. And regardless of how many 3rd party applications you have installed, this shouldn't be a problem. Just try to regularly do what I suggested above. Updates will come and the memory leak will get addressed.
Thanks CX! I sure hope the people in charge of the updates know about CB and can at least see some of the complaints to know what to address

Thank you CX for the vote of confidence on a fix. I expect a little leakage over time, like you said it is normal. Mine is dropping to 15 - 20 daily. Battery pulls bring it back over 40. Looking foward to the update!

No kidding... I have nothing out of the ordinary running in the background... just the mandatory apps... and I drop 10mb in 5 hours... cleared cache and cookies, logs, removed any apps that might suck memory and it still leaks.

And if battery pulls didn't take 5 minutes to reboot I wouldn't have issue with doing it so often.

DAMN glad I did a forum search. I got the leak BAD at first I thought Viigo might be at fault and deleted it, but I will reinstall it tonight. I think the log Cruicial mentioned might be the culprit.

Glad to hear I am not the only one with this issue. I already do what cx suggests. What
's more frustrating is I will lose 20 million in 2 days and then my battery dies in 8 hours with NO usage until I do battery pull.

42.8 mb

I've stripped it to barebones, set the right convenience key as my memory cleaner, and have been using it only for two gmail accounts and sms. No aftermarket installed apps. This thing still lags like crazy. Why can't RIM ever write a softtware without memory leaks? Or least write a master task manager into the OS, like Microsoft did for WM 6.0 on the Motorola Q9C.

This lag issue is enough to make me return the phone and buy either the Onmia or HTC Touch Pro, as much as I disdain Windows Mobile, I may have no other choice. I've lost important calls on this device due to it freezing up or trying to switch itself into landscape mode while trying to answer a call.

Why is their no option in the OS to hold the screen in portrait or landscape mode? This way you could set a convenience key to switch it, like HTC has always done on all of their full qwerty touchscreens.

RIM really was in rush to get this thing onto market and so far they've failed miserably.

let a few updates roll in...

honestly if you go put your hands on those devices you will realize how bad they actually are...

I went to check out the hype on them they are pretty bad and have pretty bad lag issues as well...

I am sure they will be updated to but the storm is sitting in the same boat for a bit

I tweaked mine pretty well and its running fantastic for the most part. I haven't had most the problems as others though to begin with.

The thing
that irritates me is I have a difficult time removing the back cover. Is there a trick I'm missing???

Default event log?

I cleared my event log and memory went from 8 to 31...is there anyway to disable that from logging?

maybe I'm a bit slow, but I don't get how to pull up the event log.

Crucial says to "in landscape hold 123 for number lock". Can someone explain this?

In landscape mode, I'm supposed to hold 123? How do I do that?

In landscape mode, press the menu key and then show keyboard. When the keyboard shows up then hold down 123 to go to numlock. Now follow Crucial's directions. Hope that helps.
