Safe to say that this will make the Storm impenetrable to dust?
It absolutely will not. The gaps between the pieces that make up the shell of the phone are not covered by the IS. The IS is made up of precisely cut pieces of sticky plastic that fit over each of the pieces of the phone shell and the screen.
I installed the pieces of the IS that fit over the plastic at the top (front and back), the plastic at the bottom under the call/menu/back/end keys, the battery cover, and the screen. Basically over everything susceptible to scratching.
One of the big bonuses to the IS is that my Storm no longer slides around in my hands. The shield provides a lot of traction. I highly recommend it to anyone who has patience to put it on correctly. I suggest starting with a piece other than the screen protector to get the hang of the process.
