Default How do i reset my MEP code entry counter?

Hey everyone,

I got a problem. I bought an unlock code for my storm but it didn't work. I've wasted a lot of tries with that code. How do i reset the counter back to 10 tries left?

I have a solution for older BB's but not sure if it works with the 9530

Found this one in a forum.

Blackberry solution for mep code (0 left)

This is the solution for anyone have mep code 0 left in his handset that no attemt balance for enter code.

1. Please install black berry desktop manager. (its free download from black berry website)
2. Connect handset with pc.
3. Open this software its shows booting rom and ask u phone unlock code(note: its not asking mep code just user code).if not phone code inserted then it update rom automatically.
4. Now your handset reboot, then you got mep code(10 left) in network lock section.

Download Rom Booter:

Thumbs down

Doesn't work Pearl/Curve/Bold/Storm handsets, I can only assume it works on 7 series BB's

Well how many tries have you wasted with that code? I would think after the second or maybe even the third try I would of contacted the seller of the code and requested that they give you a new code or a refund.

That would have been the logical thing to do.

The logical thing to do would have been to stop after one failed attempt with the code.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
- Albert Einstein

Was the party that provided the code Verizon, or a 3rd party? If it was a 3rd party, did they have a good reputation? The guy I use has a good rep, but he raised his rates to $10 after eBay put the kibosh on selling unlock codes.

There is no way of resetting the unlock attempt counter. Once you hit 10 it is locked permanently and will require a dongle to unlock.

PS. Welcome to crackberry.

I'd make sure I did not write the code down wrong. Call them back and get the code sent via SMS email then copy and paste.

Search forums for what to do when u get to zero. I saw the and somewhere.

dm3unlock.com

call those guys.. they claim they can reset the counter. you would have to ship out the phone.

do not use cellcorner..... people... took me 2 months +++ to get my phone back... customer service is horrible... does not answer your email .... and plus they are just collection site meaning they use dm3unlock somehwere in UK for unlocking.. you'd rather go direct and get back a lot quicker...
