Question How to call my office Extensions?

Hi all,
My office have a 4 digit extensions, so how can I call those with out saving the number in the Address Book.

Actually we use to call these nos from outside as 6667-1805 (1805 is extn).

So when I dial 1805 from my BB, it should reflect as 6667-1805.

Is it possible in BB? If so how?

I don't believe it's possible - even if it was, it would affect all numbers dialled form your phone so would add the office prefix in front even when you weren't dialling an office number.

Using Smart-Dialing I believe you can do what you want.

Inside Smart-Dialing is an option for Corporate Dialing. Enter a phone number that gets answered by your automatic attendant. There is also a field for extension length. Using your example above, make that 4 digits. Then put the people you want to dial in your contacts. Make the work # just the extension. Using your example above it would be x1805.

Then call the person you want by using your contacts. The phone will automatically dial the number to get you to to the automatic attendant, wait three seconds and then dial the extension number.

You can find smart-dialing in options under Call Management for OS6.

Yeah, I don't think it is possible to do exactly what you want. But I think its just as easy to save all the extensions you use in the contacts list. The Storm even recognizes extensions you save in the contacts list and will ask to put the extension for you after you have made the call, pretty handy actually.

Default Much easier way...

chiefbroski's way is much easier - if your office has a backdoor or night call number that answers to an auto-attendant. Just put X1234 (extension with X in front) spaced after the phone number that you enter in Contacts. When you select and dial that contact number, your screen will automatically ask you "push to dial this extension?". So when you get the auto-attendant recording asking for the the extension, just push the screen button. It's all automatic - nothing to program. Another BB secret shortcut! >>example: 800-555-1234 X1234
