    Not a dumb question at all. You can do it one of two ways...

    1.Call your provider (I am assuming Verizon, and that this is not an unlocked phone).

    2.Go online to your Verizon acct (again assuming your verizon). You can activate new phones there. It will ask you for your EIN. After that *228 the phone press 1 when asked, wait a few. New phone activated.

    If option 1 does not work use option 3 to transfer the new phone pretty nice feature it will walk you through the steps also remember to do a device change through the BIS portal

    This is probably a really dumb question but how do I activate my new replacement storm?
    I should be a document explaining that in the box. Anyway, you go to Cell Phones, Cell Phone Plans, Cell Phone Accessories - Verizon Wireless and log-in to your account. There should be a link somewhere to activate your device. Once you do that, you do a *228, option 1 from your phone.

    If you are unsure about the process, you can always call 611, but it is better if your try first.

    *228 then GO TO OPTION 3 it will prompt you through swapping devices.......then hit the BIS and do device change with your pin and imei

    Phone is fine now login to vzw bis to get email back up and running that's where you will update the pin and imei then resend service books

    May anyone please let me know that can i active the storm with verizon network without using the data plan from verizon or not? Becasue my previous phone was broken and i just got the Storm from ebay, and i want to active the Storm. Please show me what can i do to use the Storm without the data plan. Thanks a lot.
