Have you tried pressing the BB/menu button while in that menu and selecting Register Now? If not, I'd give that a shot.

Apparently you're in a crappy coverage area. Set the radio to 1XEV only and NOT Global and see if you get a proper connection. D isn't good enough to get the proper data needed to provision RIM data services (i.e. the HRT).

Dial *228 and hit 1 to program the phone. If you don't get the VZW OTA programming prompts, then you've got issues with the radio programming. I'd try a fresh battery pull and see what's up. Do you know anyone else with a VZW Blackberry in your area. If you do, call them up and ask them if they're having any issues (could be a cell tower outage or something) also, if they're fine, have them dial ##000000 Send and tell you the Home SID on their device. Make sure that matches on your if you do the same thing. If not, make the correction, save it and let it reboot. It should come backup then and you could do a *228 then.

You did get .148 from the carrier and not some wacky hybrid download from any threads on this site, right?

If that's the case, how did you do this?

Yeah, not. Something's probably messed up then.

Go to Options/About and tell me the versions of the OS listed. I'm willing to bet the OTA update messed up, that's why your radio doesn't work right. Do you have a computer you can load DM on and reload the OS that way?
