    I have, what I think is, a cool background and the button that are supposed to be like "glass" or "smoke" are too dark to really see my background... Is there a way to make them "more clear", I don't know how else to say it.

    I don't know if a way to make your icons more visible. You could try a different theme, some have very 'bright' icons.

    There's probably a theme that will make the area around the icons transparent, or at least translucent. I guess just try some out.
