Not on bis, but yes if you're on a bes.

During my 2 week stray to the iPhone the folders on my BES outlook automatically were there. They aren't on berry. Is there a setting I need to change?

Are you getting your BES email? I would make sure you are activated (enterprise activation)

BIS = Blackberry Internet Service, basically having your email pushed to your device, there is no physical server

BES = Blackberry Enterprise Server, there is a server that is exchanging the information, it is sync'd with your device, you share content, basically, you can create folders, the server will actually hold the data which syncs with your device, same with calendar.

So original poster, if you are on a BIS (logging in through your providers site to create email address) you cannot create folders.
