Yes, there have been 1,000+ threads about this but I do know that it is a defect that will be able to have my phone replaced with a new one. However, the day before I was going to take the phone in my girlfriend dropped it on the pavement and put a pretty nice crack in the screen. It's a hairline crack but it goes from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Will they still let me trade it in for a new one or am I SOL? I didn't get insurance at first, but after trying to get it 2 weeks after purchase date, (since my holster scratched up the chrome ARGHHHH) Verizon doesn't let you put insurance on your phone after 15 days.

You are probably SOL, if you don't have insurance, I would try to replace the screen myself. Try: 9500/9530 - Alcatel, BenQ-Siemens, Microsoft, NEC, Panasonic, LG, Apple, 3G, Dopod/O2, Black for a replacement screen.
